I am coming to phuket for a few days in january with some of my co-workers we want to rent a cat for the day, must be a very nice boat, we have a budget of around 30-35k for the day anybody know a good charter company, were staying at the indigo pearl, if that helps with location never been to the south so i have no idea how far apart everything is, thanks in advance guys for any helpful advice,

they have a large range of VERY nice cats for charter within your price range. They also speak 5 or 6 different languages. (English, Dutch, Flemish, Spanish, Italian,French etc)

You can also try Jurg Hofer at Elite Sail and Dive in the Phuket Boat Lagoon. They have the largest fleet, apart from Sunsail, on the island.

One small thing though is that you will need at least one day to get to where you are wanting to go to as well as one day to return. If you are staying at Indigo Pearl you are at least 30 miles from places like Koh Racha and at an average of 6 - 8 knots it will take you up to 10 hours travelling each way. Yes cats can go fast, but only when there is sufficient wind and it is sustained. You may wish to either change your planned destination to one which is closer, or extend the length of your trip.

Yes this is all very true. Andaman sea club however sail out of Ao Yon in the south of the island. It's not tidal so you can arrive and leave when ever you want. Ao Yon to Ko Racha is a couple of hours only. This is presumably why they use Ao Yon as their base and not boat lagoon or yacht haven.

If you have not found a boat yet, my friend who's computer has crashed asked me forward a few photo's of his very fast Corsair 28 which is available. It is available with or without skipper, depending on experience.
