In the news (on the radio) this afternoon I heard the government (might have been a statement from the BOI, not sure) is going to fast-track visa applications for IT professionals due to a 'shortage of foreign experts' in this area.

They said that the applications would be processed in 5 days, and that people would be able to apply for 1-year visas.
