Nattakorn slipping, Sukhumbhand ahead

BANGKOK: -- The popularity of Bangkok governor candidate ML Nattakorn Devakula has lowered in recent polls that show MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra remaining in the lead.

The second survey on Bangkok governor candidates by Assumption University's Abac Poll interviewed 2,063 city residents from December 19-24.

Abac Poll director Noppadon Kannika Thursday reported 35.6 per cent of the respondents said they would choose Sukhumbhand as the new governor, while 29.6 per cent selected Nattakorn, and 25.8 per cent named actor-turned-politician Yuranan Pamornmontri.

Sukhumbhand's voter base remained pretty much the same, while Nattakorn's shrank and Yuranan's expanded from the previous poll's 17.3 per cent, he said.

The Suan Dusit Rajabhat University poll, conducted among 9,586 Bangkok residents from December 23-25, found Sukhumbhand leading with 40.6 per cent, followed by Nattakorn at 29.73 per cent, Yuranan at 20 per cent and Kaewsan Atibhodi at 5.2 per cent.
