In the early hours of Christmas Day, Police Captain Patipat was called to the Sukumkvit Road intersection with Soi Chayapreuk in Jomtien to deal with a road accident involving a number of vehicles.

At the scene, the officer determined that 3 vehicles were involved in the accident, an Ice Truck, a Jeep and a Mazda Pick-up.

The Ice Truck driver was trapped in his cab and sustained multiple injuries. He was eventually cut from the cab and taken to Hospital where Doctors confirmed he was not seriously injured.

Drivers and passengers in the two other vehicles were unhurt and explained that the Ice Truck ploughed into them at the intersection.

The Truck driver claimed that his brakes had failed and he was unable to avoid a rear-end collision with the two other vehicles that were preparing to u-turn at the junction.

Investigators confirmed that the brakes on the Ice Truck had failed and Police are investigating further before they decide to press charges against the Truck driver or not.
