Hi,

I went looking for a new notebook at the new Tukcom in Pattaya. I saw a couple of different "entry level" machines around the 30,000baht range.

In particular, I saw an Acer and a "Belta" for the same price. The Belta has a couple of extra features, such as a firewire port and Svideo out, and as well it's a 2.4Ghz vs 1.5Ghz for the Acer.

The salesman - er - boy - said the parts come from the same factory in Taiwan, the Belta is assembled in Thailand. I must say, at a first glance, the screen and keyboard certainly look like they could have been built in the same factory...

Has anyone had any experience with a "Belta" computer? Or any of the other "no-name" computers I've seen here in Thailand, such as SVOA or Liberty?

Please post your experiences [good or bad] here :o
