Budget Accomodation In Patong

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Our fmaily of 6 will be going to Phuket end of april.

This is our first time there and we want to stay in a budget

place which is clean, comfortable and central to

everythinh, beach, restaurant, shopping area.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Plenty of good clean cheap guest houses along Nanai Rd. That's the road that runs along the base of the hill to the east side of Patong. I assume you have a vehicle, so just drive along that road looking for the best deals. There will be plenty of vacancies. Expect prices as low as 300 baht for a fan room. No need to amke a reservation.

One thing that stands out... 'Budget' in Patong often means lots of cheaper sex tourists or even being used as short time rooms.. And your posting about 'family'..

Fine if your cool with that.. Just making you aware of a possible conflict..

Don't disagree with LOS .. :o But he might be making something out of nothing. So what, seeing some young Thai ladies with older farangs ... big deal. Plenty of backpackers and younger couples on a budget holidays. And anyway most guest houses will be near empty by April 2009.

Yeah for me its not a big deal, for many Euros who seem to be more relaxed about this then again not a big deal..

But perhaps the OP hasnt been her before, seeing the games that go on in some of the budget places pools at night is perhaps something that would need to be shielded from young children. Theres a reason why 'family' centric hotels have joiner fees and rules about guests use of pools, guests leaving times etc.

i used to stay at Jinnys Guesthouse. great little place with a pool and lovely owners.

i would recommend the new Ibis Hotel ( only 850 THB a night )

PS 2 Bungalows at Rath Uthit Road, Tel. 076342207. Rooms with aircon, safe, TV, hot shower, and they have a big swimming pool and an OK restaurant. It is centrally located, but not noisy. In April (low season) I think it will cost around 700 Baht.

Any idea how's the price surge will be like during peak period? Am going there in November...thanks!!

Theres a very nice cheap hotel room on the corner of Soi Kepsup and Ratuthit road, the entrance is an Indian restaurant but they have rooms upstairs, can't remember what the name is, we got rooms for 500baht/night during December, so should even be cheaper after high season is over. Rooms look brand new, with functional air con and very central. I don't think their would be any need to book.

I always stay at the Aloha Villa. Usually about 800b a night in low season. Near Bangla and Jungceylon.

Hotels2Thailand.com usually have the best rate for there, but often only a few weeks out.
