I've never had a problem dealing with Backstreet Books or Gecko, but Gecko certainly has a much better selection.

I'd agree that Gecko has the best selection, I also have found that if you are seen talking to George in Gecko and then visit Backstreet the Irish owner will throw you out - strange but true

Yeah, I always go in to Gecko with a hood over my head.

Can't say I warmed very much to that Irish guy, but there again it's the books I'm interested in not the owner.

Please dont turn this thread into one particular book shop -v- another. (well..particularly not in the way in which it has been heading in any case)

I'll say it again, Pattaya would be blessed to have some of the well stocked Chiang Mai book shops here.

And the half credit given on returned purchased books is a great scheme and a smart incentive.
