LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
You must maintain insurance the entire length of the LTR visa. The BOI web site states all requirements must be maintained during the length of the visa. Failure to do so will result in termination of the visa. Nothing stops you from canceling the insurance once the visa is issued, however, if BOI Immigration finds out you can kiss your LTR visa goodbye. Does BOI immigration ever check?...not that I've heard of. Will BOI immigration check for the 5 year renewal?....no one knows as the first 5 year renewals will not occur until late 2027 when the people who got the first LTR visas in late 2022 need to apply for their 5 year renewal. -

Mexico protesters demand American tourists leave, attack cafes
What a lot of people don't seem to understand is that America desperately needs Mexican labor, both legal and illegal. Though I would prefer that it be legal, unfortunately the US visa system is so broken that something like that is not possible. This is the dirty little secret no Republican wants to talk about. -

Are You a Farang Kee Nok?
An old Thai insult that gets thrown around in certain circles: "Farang Kee Nok". Literally, “bird sh*t foreigner.” The stereotype of the bottom-rung farang in Thailand living on scraps, always broke, maybe overstaying visas, lurking around cheap rooms, drinking outside the 7-Eleven, and generally gives foreigners in Thailand a bad name. But like most labels, I've noticed it gets thrown around pretty loosely. Some people use it for anyone who doesn’t live the high life in an expensive condo. Others think it means any guy who goes native and lives like a local, eats Thai food every day, rides a motorbike, and avoids tourist traps. Perhaps what actually qualifies someone as a farang kee nok depends on a mix of factors. It’s not just about money, but also about behavior and attitude. Living in an inexpensive apartment and keeping a low budget doesn’t automatically make someone kee nok. It’s seemingly more about being rude, sloppy, and constantly trying to game the system. Have you ever been called "kee nok" and is it really such a bad thing?
