Swissotel Nai Lert Park Dinner Experience

Featured Replies

I went to Swissotel Nai Lert Park for my birthday celebration. Following info I would like to share with you.

1) ISO Restaurant, international buffet. it supposes to having several continental dishes.

2) My friends and I experienced they served Thai Noodles(Pad thai), Bacon, onion soup, mashed potato, beans, normal salad, steam corn, sausages, ordinary pastry and water melon.

3) No Italian, No Japanese, No Indian, No Steak, No Juice, No varieties of fruits, No major Thai dishes either.

4) They even charged for drinking water.

5) They charged 1250 Baht per person.

Is this call an international buffet in a Five star hotel?

I did not figure out what is the reason. They may tried cut cost on food and beverage. However is this the way to treat their customer? :o

I use to go for lunch and dinner at different five/four star venues. I tried got new taste at new place on my Birthday. It was so annoying for me and my friends.

That is not good.

One thing that annoys me at most of these 5* establishments, is when they charge you for water when you have paid for a buffet.

I refuse point blank to pay for it, and every time they remove the cost from my bill.

That buffet sounds awful. Had it been me I would not have sat down, I would have walked straight out.

moving this to the int'l food in thailand forum

and gee that price? Id certainly not pay for it. Swissotel is not exactly 5 star in bangkok either. I know many other 5 stars who do buffets for around that price (some are more though) but the selection is ohhhhhhhh so mouth watering!

cant remember how much the sheraton grande sunday brunch is....but its a very good deal in terms of whats on offer.

for lunch buffets try the following (sorry cant remember prices for any), but very very decent selection:

PLaza Athenee on Wireless road

Landmark on Sukhumvit (near Soi 6) (including good selection of fresh sushi/sashimi)

Rembrandt - international buffet is alright...but the indian sunday brunch is excellent if you can take the spices in indian food

Sukhothai on sathorn - very very good selection, and the thai dishes they serve are really nice

dinner buffet (but more pricey)

sheraton on the water

shangrila - might be 1950 ++ (but it includes a chocolate fountain!!!) :o

Usual buffets do not include beverage. If you order water, they will bring a bottle of water, which of the price is in the menu. But if you order a glass of water, that will be FOC.

Thank you so much for your feedback on our hotel restaurant. Though ISO Restaurant does indeed serve international cuisine, there was a special theme night at ISO at the time of your birthday, called ‘Make your own BBQ on the Terrace’, where guests are encouraged to BBQ the food themselves, exactly how they like it.

Should you wish to sample our international spread, however, you are most welcome to do so from Monday to Friday, for lunch or dinner. Regular promotions include our 1 Minute 7 Baht (because ‘time is money’) and Sunday Family Brunch.

We look forward to welcoming you at the ISO again sometime soon!

How does this guy know when the OP birthday was ? The OP did not mention any type of BBQ either nor did the "manager " address the water issue. Something don't sit right here :o

I have a theory ...

Either Mr Arelio is a mind reader or more likely, this event occurred last weekend (the cake and singing at the OP's table gave it away) and is still top of mind.

Or the OP complained bitterly on the night / next day directly to the establishment.
