DETROIT — It may be tough to get financing for a new car these days, but in Detroit you can buy a house with a credit card.

The median price of a home sold in Detroit in December was $7,500, according to Realcomp, a listing service.

Not $75,000. Remove a zero—it's seven thousand five hundred dollars, substantially less than the lowest-price car on the new-car market

What the hel_l are you on abut,is this a phuket druggie????

Please try a little education on such matters - my point is as plain as your stupidity:

Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (Rayong) (ESIE)

Cluster: Automotive Cluster, Metal Fabrication, Plastics & Polymers, Electronics, Packaging and Consumer,

Building Materials, Logistics and Others

BOI Zone: III

Recognized as "Detroit of the East", The Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate (ESIE) in Rayong Province is the auto cluster under the BOI Zone III incentives. The industrial estate is strategically located in proximity to Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port (Container, Roll On-Roll Off) and Sriracha Deep Sea Port (Container and Bulk). The industrial estate covers a vast area of 8,628 rai (3,451 acres).

ESIE is home to over 109 automotive supply-line companies. This includes 9 of the world's top 10 automotive suppliers and over 25 Toyota group companies. General Motors manufactures Chevrolet sedans and one-ton pickups as well as Isuzu one-ton pickup export volumes. Ford and Mazda under Auto Alliance (Thailand) produce one-ton pickups for both local and export markets. This industrial estate is a manufacturing base for export to more than 206 countries. Since created in 1995, ESIE's development has been a resounding success with USD 5 billion investment. At present, there are 25,000 employees working with over 214 international companies.

There's no subject to this at all. What are you talking about?

Subject: Rayong is promoted as Detroit of the East (Big car manufacture - you know - probably not!)

In actual Detroit in the states, due to economic sh*t houses can be bought for $7500 - - in othere words Detroit is <deleted>**ed - so one wouldn't want to, on reflection, promote Rayong as the Detroit of the east. Or are you just brainless altogether!

Does anybody know what he is on about. How do you respond to a thread like that???

Detroit USA once the pride of US motor manufuacturing is officially fuc_ked. An average house can be purchased for less than the price of a car - av. $7500

There are big bill board sign posters along the sukumvit asapproching Pattaya announcing proudly that Rayong is the detroit of the east.

My suggestion - this boast now seems a little outdated. Detroit is now a broken state'

"Rayong Detroit of the east" - somewhat of an ironic promotion given recent events. <deleted>!!

I think the OP is trying to say to call one's self "the Detroit of the East" might not appear to be such an attractive advertising point for potential new business these days.

Maybe this topic belongs in the Eastern Thailand forum?

I do know a lot about the Eastern Seaboard and the automotive production in this area. The area had been promoted as the Detroit of the East some time ago and has in fact worked and been successful. So your post doesn't really make sense at all, as it was a very successful marketing campaign from the BOI, in promoting the auto sector to invest here. However, you would be right in saying that it probably doesn't work in the current climate, due to the reduction in automotive output, as a direct response to the global economic downturn.

However, you have based this topic on the benefit of hindsight. You are merely stating the obvious.. which in turn brainless altogther. It's like calling up the banks in the US and telling them they shouldn't have given out virtually unsecured loans...
