Massage parlour minimum age

On April 16, another controversial law is being enforced. After that date, massage parlors can no longer employ anyone under the age of 40, and are required to register all employees as such. This will minimize the request by customers for "extra services" which can cause problems with marriages and minor wives.

Great idea, get rid of all the inexperienced young chicks who don't know what they are doing and then can't keep theirs mouths shut.

....... But what about 'the happy-ending' !!!!!! :o

No point in coming to Thailand anymore.......Are they for real !!!!! With this mentality why don't they just ban all farrangs under the age of 85 unless accompanied with BOTH parents. New2thai Newbie

I thimnk everyone is missing the point here, and not taking note of today's date, its April 1st (April fools day) but the editor has had some fun at the expense of the respondents who are getting all hot and bothered about such an obvious ruse. :o

What a bunch of wanke_rs! They want to preserve their tourism, yet they impose draconian laws which are only enforced on farangs. All of these restaurants and bars will still sell, but they will have to pay off the police. Eventually, just like the smoking ban, this will go away as well because people will not comply completely.

Hahaha .. great joke! Got me going for a while before I realised the date. Thank you.

Now, the way it went on the forum proves to me how stressed we all are (the Farang) in this country and eager to believe anything stupid and bad can be actually happening to us. The constant "crack-downs" on just about everything are part of every-day life here and we can just about to expect a crack-down on Farang per se. One can only hope the benefiting mafia is too strong to allow that.

Mr Chanaporn of the committee for returning Thailand to the dark ages is upset with the leak that rules are going to apply to farangs under the age of 85.

That impotent farangs has been the subject of many closed meetings was not supposed to leak until the final draft of immigration legislation was reviewed by the inner circle of the ministry of culture.

A document leaked was a copy of the minutes of a committee meeting and listed restriction on visas for under the 85s as a possibility.

Also 'guests' staying at any hotel with anyone born after 1923 was to carry a surcharge payable as tax.

to follow..

It gets better. If Chalerm Yumbarung becomes the new pm he's made it known that he's going to put his son in charge of enforcing this new statute. Mr. Happy Toilet will become Mr. Happy Hours. TIT

this thread is amazing, it shows that 90% of posters just dont bother reading what anyone else replies. It seems forums are about the individual not the community. :o

Spot on.

And Spot is running as fast as he can too.

This is another example of useless legislation brought to you by ineffective politicians who think they must at least prove that they are still awake and on the job. While it is true that alcohol is a major problem, wouldn't it make a LOT more sense to arrest public drunks and enforce existing drunk driving laws? Has it ever occurred to the politicians that to reduce the highway carnage, you have to get the drunks off the road?

I thought Chamlong was now out of sight but it appears he is still crusading for prohibition and is determined to uphold his high moral values. He would be a lot more effective if he were to be a corruption watch dog. If that were the case, he wouldn't be around long because the corrupt politicians would have him quickly killed. Folly upon folly. It is for sure, AMAZING Thailand.

Good to see Pope Gregory's introduction of his new calender has not quite got to the USA? Happy fools day :o:D:D:D

Okay, so I'm just stinkin' about this...I hardly ever drink at a pub, and often leave early. Have not gotten a massage in years. Okay with me.

I don't drink alcohol ever and rarely get a massage except when I have worked out too much - but I am adamantly opposed to such government interference. Anyone think about what women aged 20-30s who are supporting a family by working in a massage parlor - legitimate or otherwise - what are they going to do for money? And the reduction in income for the bars, etc. So counter-productive to the economy. And this is all suppose to promote 'family outings'? Really really stupid.

You obviously REALLY Got me. Good job George!
