george Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Hey all, I want to do a Big Thaivisa Party on Koh Samui in May or June! We want to identify our "Home of Thaivisa in Samui" that can take care of our members for a night of fun. Could be a big bar, a nice restaurant or a resort or hotel that welcomes us. We are open for all ideas I'll do the marketing and promote the place so we fill it up for a great night. Where is a good location on the island that Thaivisa can deal with to do a big Samui Thaivisa Members Party? Please advise, we can discuss the date, time and details later, FIRST lets find THE place that you guys like. Looking forward to your replies and ideas! Post photos and a map or description of the place you suggest! George A little list of our last parties, have a look: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...et-t136662.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...hi-t130360.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-O...bq-t131865.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...ty-t173878.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...Pa-t229576.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Thaivisa-Yea...-s-t229541.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Bbq-Party-Fr...et-t194181.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...ty-t173878.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...sa-t149309.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-T...art-t51203.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Thaivisa-Bbq...ti-t178658.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Rumor-Thaivi...ay-t136190.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Invitation-F...0t-t201420.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Thaivisa-s-6...ty-t211287.html http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Bbq-Party-Fr...et-t194181.html
MSingh Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Solo Club, any night, from 03:00 - 05:00 ?? Or Fusion, same hours, if it should be in Lamai ??
koheesti Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Premier Bar in Bangrak? I know the owner he could give a good deal and probably a free BBQ. How many people would you expect?
H2oDunc Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I would say the Premier bar would be far too small ? Decent bar though and a good owner, nice guy. I know the Thai owner of the Buddy shark bar in Lamai ? Good size, on the beach and with a pool to mess about in. Let me know

I know the Thai owner of the Buddy shark bar in Lamai ? Good size, on the beach and with a pool to mess about in. Let me know It could be too small - if more than 20 showed up and the party were on a busy night. So if it's on a Fri or Sat someplace else would be better. Buddy Shark? Isn't that the one that is maybe 50 meters south of one of the big spa/detox places across from Mama Burgers? I know some people who went there and was told it was a Thai bar and they felt very unwelcome. Maybe someplace in Chaweng that would be easier to get to for everyone? Some of these places have second floors that could be "reserved", I'm thinking somplace like The Islander or Tropical Murphy's.
DCS Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I'd like to suggest the Elephant and Castle in Bang Rak, large restaurant area with good catering service, beach bar and main bar!
Samuian Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Big Bamboo Bar @ Chaweng Beach! The Islander Tropical Murphy's Q-Bar ?
Boater Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Big Bamboo Bar @ Chaweng Beach! thats an ok venue but i think where ever gives the best value and coldest beer to thaivisa members what about Kush Bar???????? .................................
Samuian Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Big Bamboo Bar @ Chaweng Beach! thats an ok venue but i think where ever gives the best value and coldest beer to thaivisa members what about Kush Bar???????? ................................. definately NOT being a feminist but the "naked sushi" marketing try - thought to be funny - I perceived it as a wee bit spiced with contempt towards women and I thought of it myself a bit of abhorrent way of marketing a restaurant and bar with flair! it's a very narrow path of being really good, outstanding and failure to hit the right nerve. sorry, just a thought or 2 as the pic is around on the www.!

I thought they had both men and women "tables"? Elephant & Castle isn't bad. Any other suggestions?
koheesti Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 www.springerpub.co.th Good music at Springer Pub, close for Lamai people to get to and it's not a shiny brand new place so the old timers should feel at home.

You know, on second thought, I don't even want to go there Hope its fun, I'll be in the US visiting family so won't be able to make it. Would have been interesting to say the least. Anyway, if you guys want we can make this a poll?
Rooo Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Why don't we make a decision, via poll on where on the island would be more suitable for all & then proceed to the next step which is the venue.
PoorSucker Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Why don't we make a decision, via poll on where on the island would be more suitable for all & then proceed to the next step which is the venue. Ok, you are the the only Samui Mod.

sbk Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Not sure if Rooo knows how to add a poll yet, so have just added it. Please let me know if I missed a key area on Samui. There is room for two more.

Samuian Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Lazy Coconut in Maenam? on Weekends not a bad venue, do you take care of the bills for the accomodation @ Santiburi? Thinking about drink drivin' and possible consequences, if one can stumble into his hotel, resort, homestay it would be quite an advantage taken into consideration that this supposed to be the "Annual Samui Thai_Visa Piss up"... Just a thought or 2...
les Dennis Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If Chaweng wins the vote, Tropical Murphy's would be my first choice. Plenty of room and live music.
Rooo Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If Chaweng wins the vote, Tropical Murphy's would be my first choice. Plenty of room and live music. Great idea, here it comes but I think they are trying to have a private function. I might be wrong, but I think how they do their events.

Very cheap Draught Chang and large bar.
marcus Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If Chaweng wins the vote, Tropical Murphy's would be my first choice. Plenty of room and live music. Euhm, might sound a bit ridiculous, but I think it should be in an area with a lot of parking place. I suppose most of us will come by car, so Bang Rak looks more practical to me as Chaweng or Lamai beach road.
Boater Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 suppose most of us will come by car remember no drinking and driving
MSingh Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I would have love to have met Mattias33, i would have had hours of fun with him, especially after a few Beverages...
