I am coming to BKK from US next week and I was searching for Hotels in BKK , I never stayed at the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel ,so i dont know how good it is, but It was posted in www.agoda.com , a hotel reservations service I use often and the rate was $ 115 usd per night ,for a Superior room very expensive I think. And the Novotel Bangna Bangkok Hotel, about 20 km from the airport, for $ 54 usd, any way do a search your self and you can see all the different rates.

Forget it... If you allow yourself to be ripped off by the truly dreadful and soulless Novotel at BKK airport, you're probably the kind of person who enjoys paying $5 every day for a tasteless cup of crap coffee at $tarbucks. There are many better and much cheaper options a little further away from BKK airport, for example "The Ivory". Great place, check it out on Agoda:

http www.agoda.com/asia/thailand/bangkok/the_ivory_suvarnabhumi_hotel.html

I paid 1,000 baht all in, and by the way, Agoda is clearly the best hotel reservation site. When they say "best price guaranteed", that's not just an empty marketing slogan. Those guys ALWAYS have the best prices going, no matter what country you're travelling to. OK, sometimes also www.Wotif.com can beat Agoda on price, provided that you're booking a long way ahead. Whenever I book my hotels, I always check out many sites but I always end up using either Agoda or Wotif.

Agree that the Novotel is a waste of time...what culture? There is a great boutique hotel on Ramkhamhaeng soi 170...sorry forget the name, but also hotels on soi 164(perfect) and 160(Mistine). It takes 25 minutes tops to get to these places. Bonus=you can walk around and eat authenic food in a peaceful neighbourhood. Taxis are cheap and you could shop and buy and eat for what the Novotel costs for one night. Adios.

lol you can be in Sukhumvit in a little more time. Close to an airport to me is less than five minutes.
