Hi Everyone

I have been in ko tao for nearing a month and a half now, I have a two month tourist visa which I got in London before coming out, my flights back to London are booked on the 18th June so I need another 30 days, does the immingration office in Ko Samui still give these out? If so are they strict about this? What information would I need to take with me and how long would it take?

Sorry for all the questions, any help would be great!

During last week of your permitted to stay fill out the TM.7 form with information from your passport and obtain the 30 day extension of stay. Photos and perhaps passport copies will be required. Simple process. Take your ticket but probably not be required. Many people do every day. Your 30 days will start at the end of your current stamp so you lose nothing doing it early.

Hi Lopburi

thanks for your reply, where can I find a TM.7? So if I pop along to Ko Samui this or next week with the TM.7 and pay the fee then 30 days will be stamped? Sorry for all the different questions I've just heard lots of different things about the visa/permit extension.

Thank you x

Print the two pages of the form on the two sides of a single sheet of paper. Sometimes, even then an immigration officer may reject it and ask you to use the printed form given out at the immigration office. In such case, smile and do as he/she says.

thanks so much for all of your help, my visa expires on May 24th and I leave to go to bangkok on the 20th of May do you think I could get this completed in Bangkok as it would cost 70 pounds round trip to get to and from Ko Samui? If so would I be leaving it a little too late if I went on the 21st to the immigration office in Bangkok?

Big thank you once again x

You can, and should, do it about a week early - you lose no days as it starts at the end of your current permitted to stay until stamp time. So if in Samui do it there - if in Bangkok do it there. Just use your current hotel address that matches where you are doing the application.

It is really dead simple and many, many people are doing it every day so there is nothing to be scared about - a tourist visa is designed to be extended for 30 days.
