Driving Thailand Registered Car To Malaysia

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether I can get a English translated Blue Card in Songkhla even though my car is registered in Bangkok? I stay in Samui, so it is very inconvienent to go to Bangkok to get the blue card translated.

My car is still under leasing and the original blue card is kept by the leasing company. However, they have given me all the authorization papers and copy of the blue card to drive the card out of Thailand. What I need now is the English translated blue card and it is very difficult to get the leasing company to understand that. I have been talking with them for almost 2 months now.

You don't need to translate the blue ownership book.

What you need is the land transport department to issue you a letter stating your license plate in romanised letters, and it (from memory) should include your car model, colour ans chassis number.

Whether or not you can get it done near the border, I am not sure, but people of have gone to Laos have managed to have their cross-border documentation outside their home province.

Why don't you just call the land transport department in Songkhla and ask?
