Music Practice Rooms

Featured Replies

My band are looking for somewhere to practise. Ideally with amps and drum kit near Sukhumvit area. I've been told that there are practice rooms around but can't find them on a google search. Does anyone know of one or has anyone used one in Bangkok? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There used to be a place in Soi Convent. Not sure if it still exists, it is about 10 years ago I've been there....

The end of lad prao where it intersects with ratchada if your travelling from central end its on the right hand side and at the end of a row of shops.. as i remember its a music store and recording place to rent out by the hour....

Does it have to be around Sukhumvit? The missus has a place with recording booth. Its in the early stages, but might suit your purposes. Its in Lad Phrao. Not expensive.

PM me if you are interested.

I used EQ Studio before.. Really good. You don't have to take anything. They have amps, drum kit, mics, bass, guitars, amps, effects pedals all set up and switched on ready to play when I hired it. I think it was about 300 Baht an hour.. I think. Highly recommended.

Hi,

If anyone is interested I have an 8 track portastudio for sale. Zoom MRS-8. Boxed. Never used with manuals etc. Perfect piece of kit to take along to the practice rooms.

There is an ad in the classified or you can PM me.

Cheers,

GFL.

Hey what's up, I like this thread.

I just moved to Bangkok from Canada via HK and this is my first post.

I play sax..... Who wants to jam at one of these spaces??? 300 baht sounds pretty good.....I'm in and I'll bring gear and beer.

Afro grooves or somethin' funky break-ish? Make up some tunes and get famous, easy! :)

I'm a drummer and I think the hardest to find is a bass player. Currently in need of more musicians for indie rock project - need guitarist(s) and or bass player. The other guy I play with plays guitar and bass and sings. PM me or send an email to ariesram74 at H O T M A I L dot C O M.

The hardest thing to find is normally a drummer.

I've got an old electric bass.

If you like you can come round to where I live and practice outside my neighbours house. That way they might get to feel what its like to be blasted by crap thai music all day!!!

I play sax.....
Wow a sax player I am a trumpet player and I have been trying to get something together with a brass section since I got here 10 years ago and its like banging my head on brick wall. No offense to Thai brass sections but there timing is always off and the intonation is so bad its like they are all tuned Sharpe a quarter tone up. NO blending of tones its either all sax or all tinny trumpet.

If your a sax, I am trumpet we just need a trombone player that can get those high b's and c's and we are off :).

A Class brass section to rent for any band. Doing a big music job and need that extra icing on the cake, that touch of class that will make you look and sound like that top band you really are, well we are here :D

Into acid jazz, funk, platform Soul and all that.
