HI

I have a brand new Navara 4x4 and yet not used it in any forest path like.

Does anybody know where's a good place to drive offroad near BKK?

I'm a bit fed up of concrete and chaos.. :)

Thanks

I saw something around the chonburi area, where the motorway forks left for pattaya and right [straight on] for bangsean, take the pattaya turning, keep going about 5 or 10 kms ,theres a exit signposted ### zoo , sorry zoo is al i remember, turn off do the firs u turn yu see, literally at the junction ,go staright to a t junction turn right , follow that road , not too far, on the left side your looking for a trail just off the tarmac, opposite on the right hand side there is a big market, its an 1 hr out of bangkok.

Cool, thanks guys :)

I know there are some Thai 4x4 clubs on the net but, I wonder if someone from thaivisa would be interested in arrange a sort of English speaking 4x4 club. It may be interesting to do some weekend activities, routes and so on.

im looking at the 4x4 second(4th) hand market now.

any bargains i might be missin out on?

the local yards have a few in my low price range but im hangin on for something i love, not just like.

i lovelove love banger racing, but the price of 'bangers' here is too much

used to love getting old trade ins for 50 bills and smashin em into each other.

but forest trails and that sounds the stuff for a maturer me.

Any tips for somewere in the Bkk area?

Just got A Chev Captiva and wouldnt mind trying it on some mild off-road driving.

The Capt is called a "Crossover car" so its a little bit low on ground clearence, suits me fine as I really dont need an off-road.

But after driving it for close to 1 week on congested Bkk roads (20Km/hr average speed :) ), I would really like to try something different... I might just take a trip to a small fishing village in Chonburi to get some Tollway highspeed driving (If I remember correctly the village is called Pattaya by the locals).

I guess off-road might be a laugh though.

I go to Kanchanaburi with some Thai friends from time to time. Mostly to a place about 60kms from Kanchanaburi proper. Really rough and muddy this time of year.

I am looking for other places now as I want to go almost every weekend. I have a Suzuki SJ413 with a Nissan SR20DE engine, 4-wheel disk brakes, front and rear winchs, 35" Simex extremes etc.

I will go to Si Sawat on this month 22-25 for some off road as well as fishing.

I am up for any english speaking group that likes camping and off road scene.
