I am sick of the Nana Hotel's constant price raises. Are there any other fairly good hotels with a swimming pool that are cheaper and along Sukumvit from approx. Nana area to Emporium area?

I am actually looking for the same thing, so if you don't mind, I am going to piggy back on this thread. I am planning on staying for at least one month maybe two. I am considering the Royal Asia Lodge, it is located down Soi 8, it has a pool and if you book via the internet it includes breakfast. I emailed them inquiring about discounts for long term stays and here is their response and I must say they responded withing 12 hours!

Thank you for interesting Royal Asia Lodge & Paradise Bangkok. We still have room available period on july till september as per your enquiry I have reply as below ; 1) Is a free breakfast every morning included in the room rate for a superior room? Yes, now we offer a specail in our hotel website rate are included breakfast. 2) Do you have a discounted monthly rate for a superior deluxe room, and due to our extended length of stay, two months, is it possible to get a further discount on this rate? Also, do your rates include all taxes and fees? We offer a special rate for a monthly rate is 24,000 THB / Month ( Room Only + electricity + water ) and 27,000 THB/ Month ( Included Breakfast + Electricity+ water ). *** Rate are included taxes and fees** If you need any enquire or need more information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Has anyone stayed here before and if so how was your experience? Any other suggestions or reccos for long term stays in the area, anything between Asoke and Soi 1 would be great?

What is the daily rate for Royal Asia Lodge & Paradise Bangkok? Longtern is a pretty good deal, but I prefer Pattaya for long vacations.

I just went to the reservation page on their website and put in a one night reservation, 5/27-5/28, and it came back at 999 baht for the night for a room (loom) with a king bed. When I googled Paradise Bangkok it took me back to the Royal Asia Lodge website.

Try the Stable Lodge on Soi 8, about 100 yards (ON LEFT) past Soi 8 pub, a friend of mine stayed there recently (ie within last month) and said very good and clean.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. It looks fine, but is actually the same price as the Nana in low season and more in high season. The Nana has everything that I want, but it just keeps getting more expensive.

The swimming pool is my downfall. It is easy to get a cheap, decent place without it, but I end up doing no exericise, which is not good.

The Federal Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11 has everything you're looking for. Tel: 02 253-0175, 02 252-5143

e-mail: [email protected]

I forgot to add that if you want to save about 200 bhat on your room at the Fed, when you check in ask if they have any of the ground floor rooms available. They dont accept reservations for the ground floor rooms so you have to ask about them when you check in.

A Hotel that I've recommended a few times on here now that might be worth a look is The Woraburi Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 4. It has a small but nice pool. A/C, cable, and wi-fi in the rooms and a buffet breakfast included in the price.

(Also, they have no problem with your new found best friend staying overnight). :)

They have an interesting promotion - Internet Rate 1,300, ABF and Free 1 bottle beer

Presumably the beer is redeemable at a different time than breakfast.

Sorry but I disagree entirely. I have just returned from a trip to BKK and stayed there after reading a recomendation in another thread in TV. For the price (999bht) it is GOOD value. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast easily the best I have had (from a Thai budget hotel), & the staff helpful. The buggy shuttle to/from Nana BTS was available any time/all the time (you just call and they meet you). No negatives whatsoever. I would certainly stay there again.

I thought it was ok in a slightly dumpy way. It's just a long hike down the soi.

I've read that the pool is rarely in use too.

If you don't mind a BTS/cab ride, the IMM Fusion in On Nut is really good. Pool, nice room, free wifi etc. 1100 a night.
