i put some pictures on a usb stick to print out at the printers

i just had a look at the usb today and it has a virus on it

here is the autorun.inf

[AutoRun]

open=xh319r9b.bat

shell\open\Command=xh319r9b.bat

the batch file is a hidden executable of 103.4KB

yes i know there are still viruses on linux before the windoze crowd jump in

Infected USB sticks are the most common way people catch things at my work now. Every time someone goes to a meeting there is this rampant exchange of infected USB sticks. In future I will only buy models with a 'read only' switch.

A good thing for Windows users to do is to turn off autorun for removable drives. You can do that with the TweakUI power toy (google it).
