Chinese Mainlanders Get 4 Months in Thailand Without Visa ?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I just returned from working in China and whilst I was there I read an article in the China daily that stated that under a new agreement all Chinese mainlanders are now able to stay in Thailand for 4 months without a visa. Shame our Governments can't arrange deals like this. I dont have a link, so has anyone else heard about this.

Cheers, Rick

They may of made some agreement but I highly doubt it could be for 4 months on arrival. It could be that they can get 2 entry tourist visas.

It would require a change to the immigration act for it to be 4 months. A 90 day stay is the maximum according to the act.

My wife was in the Thai embassy in Beijing several days ago. They have waived the visa fee for Chinese tourists now, they get a free visa. I am not sure of the length of the visa though.

So does everyone else until June 4th.

Any update on this agreement between china and thailand? It's very surprising, but could be interesting for my gf as I'm looking into ways for her to live with me in thailand as a tourist.
