Just rented a small house. It has a phone terminal (basically like a BT wall box but not on wall) with two sockets to plug phone in. How do I find out which Telecom it is from? if its in good state?

Basically I want to get ADSL up and running as quickly (and cheaply) as possible, how long does it usually take? first step?

look on the cable outside, the third wire wich will not be connected to anything can be cut so follow the cable until you find it.

read the information on it, a date and the company will be written : tot & ttt will indicate a ttt line while tot alone will indicate a tot internet.

ask the owner to show you the previous tot bills, the phone number will be writtent on it and will help to connect your line otherwise the ISP will maybe use the usual scam , the cable is too old, need to put a new one at wich you'll reply with the date written on the cable.
