Good Driving Schools In Bangkok

Featured Replies

My (Thai) wife has never driven, and I'd like to magically have her become a licensed, safe driver. By "magically," I mean I don't want to be the one to teach her (at least, not early-on in the process).

She's asked around about Thai driving schools, and came up with UPD Driving in Minburi (upddriving.com).

Does anybody have experience with this school?

Can anybody recommend a school near Bangkok, whether it's UPD or other?

Thanks,

Andy

'Good Driving Schools' in Thailand...... :) Sorry, but my GF started learning up here in CM, truck 30 yrs old, just some 'bloke' who portrayed himself as an instructor....after 3 lessons he said she was fine to drive.....mmmmm. Good luck friend!

There are 2 main factors in learning to drive....operating the vehicle and road sense. neither seem to be in great abundance on Thai roads.

however you can do something yourself - especially about the first.

Get you missus to some open land and just drive about all over the place - reversing, jamming on the brakes tight turns etc - that way she will get a feel for the vehicle.

The second part is so much easier when the learner isn't still thinking about changing gear or other things connected with driving safely in traffic.

Taking your missus out on a public road when she can't even steer properly is a really good way of ending a relationship
