Magnets, Where To Buy ?

Chiang Mai Plastic is on Kuang Mane, which is a one-way street running north from Thapae, curving around toward the east becoming the southern street bordering Warorot Market. It's an amazing shop and a must-see for anyone who wants household items like plastic baskets, kitchen items, craft supplies, gift wrap, office supplies, etc, etc. It's in the same area as the many fabric shops run by ethnic Indians and many of the younger generation of ethnic Indians who work in those shops are very friendly, speak excellent English and are more than willing to direct you to other shops in the area.

Part of the trick in finding it is knowing how to properly pronounce the name of the shop. It's not Chiang Mai Plastics, but rather Chiang Mai Plastic and the word "Plastic" is pronounced very differently by the Thais. It's almost like it's a French word -- plastique -- definite emphasis on the last syllable.
