Hello,

I recently did a TEFL course (not CELTA) which I really enjoyed and am looking forward to starting teaching English.

After doing the TEFL course I got some teaching experience in a local Primary school here in London.

I'm coming to Bangkok in mid-August so think now is a good time to start looking for a job for when I arrive.

I will be living in Bangkok so will be looking for a job in Bangkok.

Any ideas on where I should be looking for the jobs?

Thanks.

You could try looking at Ajarn.com and TEFL.net for a start. There are lots of Agencies as well, just do some Google searching. for example 'TEFL job Bangkok' will get you lots of info. Have Fun :)

The jobs here are slowly disappearing, years ago they were plentiful, now not so.

You can try the following sites

www.ajarn.com

www.ajarnjobspace.com

Good luck, others are looking too, and have been here for a long time and know what it is like to teach Thai kids. If you are sure about Thailand join the club, but if you want good money and experience South Korea is far better than here.

Thanks. I've looked on arjan but there werent many. Didn't realise it was the main place to look!

I'm coming here to live with my girlfriend so its Bangkok or bust for me! How much do they pay in S.Korea just out of interest?

Thailand is cracking down on immigration and enforcing degrees so I would imagine there will be decent positions available in a year or so. You can also apply at the universities as they seem to have a revolving door when it comes to English teachers I think because they are new graduates just taking some time off and spending it in Thailand.
