Hi,

I'm German and currently stay in Ko Samui on a non-immigrant O Visa. I dont work since I dont have a work permit. Now since I know that farrang ownership is difficult in Thailand I wanted to ask if its possible for me to buy and own a motorbike here in Samui.

Thanx for the help.

Not sure about Samui but I bought one in Bkk on a non imm-o a couple of years ago. Get a letter from the embassy stating your address, then take it all to the shop that's selling the bike, along with cash and you'll find the bike shop will be hard pressed to refuse your sale.

No problem at all.

1. Copy of passport/visa/permit to stay.

2. Certificate of Residence, issued by Immigration.

You need to show Immigration where you stay: lease, rent, tabien baan or something. Or your landlord go with you to Immigration to confirm you stay there. You need one passport size picture.
