In 2 computer is already a 1000 Mbit card.

Is it a problem to mix 1000 Mbit and 100 Mbit in one Network? In the past I had a 10/100 mixed network and it performed poor when a 10 Mbit and a 100 Mbit computer connected.

Which router should I buy? At the moment we have 7 devices connected to a 8 port router. Our problems came with more connections. Is it s problem if we use a router on the maximum? Or shall we go for a 16 port?

Or which router I better not take?

just get a 1 gig switch from a reputable manuf - linksys , dlink , netgear
