Is the Thai Visa Centre really a Thailand corporation?
Do you know their corporation name? That's all I'm trying to confirm, nothing else cheers Well, you started a thread about investigating the company so could you not share why and what your suspicions are? Do you have an issue with companies having advertising revenue? "Cheers". -

Thai Army Offers Conscripts 10 Baht Meals Following Criticism
Everyone knew. Not a secret. These are Thai peasant boys. Half of them were gay-for-pay. That's how they made ends meet (so to speak). -

As if I am going to come on here and say I can't afford a micro or whatever. Get hold of yourself Jim😀. I've been leading a nomadic lifestyle for too long, eating out in Pattaya was cheap but not so much in bkk. But health problems have kicked in complicating things. Enough of that. Thanks for your helpful posts. -

Southport Stabbing: Child Killed and Several Injured in Taylor Swift-Themed Workshop Attack
Here we have the Od Thermae syndrome. Standing there looking at the people around you and thinking what dregs of humanity they are without realising you are appearing in other people look around as the dregs of humanity, somehow people hang around in bars in Pattaya and Bangkok but somehow they themselves are like a white lotus coming forth pure and white from filth as per the Bhuddist image. Not calling people who go to bars filth, but you know the point I am making. -

Is the Thai Visa Centre really a Thailand corporation?
The results only confirmed what you expected of Thai Visa Expert, your results did not confirm anything about your choice not to use Thai Visa Centre if you didn't use them! -

Does it annoy you when a Thai person doesn't understand your spoken Thai?
You've touched upon a variety of other reasons why assessments of speaking ability made by Thais can be biased and not necessarily reliable: (1) A Thai person who has an inflated opinion of their own ability to speak English and who feels competitive with everyone else in terms of foreign language proficiency can unfairly judge a foreigner's proficiency; (2) a Thai person who wants to practice their English and denigrates or willfully frustrates communication in Thai in order to steer the conversation to English; (3) a Thai person who has established themself as the designated 'English-speaker' in front of their peers, (even though their proficiency may actually be quite low) and who view attempts at speaking Thai with them as a humiliation in front of their peer group; (4) a Thai spouse who has learned from experience that their non-Thai speaking spouse gets moody and jealous if another foreigner speaks Thai with them, and for this reason, in order to soothe the insecurities of the spouse, they downplay how well the foreigner speaks Thai, or refuse to conversationally engage with the foreigner at all. -

Is the Thai Visa Centre really a Thailand corporation?
"Thai Visa Centre" and related spellings. Mate I'm talking about this visa agency who pays a lot of money for Facebook ads targeting expats, not talking about "ThaiVisa.com"... Do you know their corporation name? That's all I'm trying to confirm, nothing else cheers- 1

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
Well, My pension is from the US Government and is a pension paid for the 40 years of government employment during which the monies I receive were paid by me and my fellow employees. The LTR to which I paid for certain 10-year benefits says I do not have to pay taxes on foreign income and in addition, the DTA between the US and Thailand says that my pension can only be taxed by the US government. Now, if both those reasons that I have non-assessable income are declared null and void by the Thai government, then yes, I will leave this land that I love and that I spend several millions of baht yearly and have done so for many years. I would not be happy to leave but I would go to some place that puts some value on my monies and self worth. Best of luck to others that may be negatively affected by the tax programs to come. -

Striking Back: The West's Need for a Stronger Response to Russia's Hybrid War
It is very much a fact that NATO member states have nuclear weapons pointed at Russia. And it is equally very much a fact that NATO is a military alliance designed to increase military co-operation with the aim of intimidating, threatening, and if need be, fighting Russia. Had Georgia and Ukraine joined NATO it would have been very likely indeed that the US would have stationed nuclear weapons here. Your premise does not make sense. IF NATO expansion eastwards had not been a threat to Russia, then why would Russia have invaded UKraine? The sole aim is to incorporat parts of the Ukraine and to weaken the country so it cannot join NATO. Why would Russia do this if there were no threat from NATO? We have already established that this notion of Putin being a new Hitler intent on incoporating Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden is devoid of any facts, and pure propaganda. There is absolutely no evidence for this. If Russia invaded Ukraine, think why it would do so. Because of the threat of NATO and Ukraine joining it. ".. in 1998, the New York Times editorial board warned: “The most important foreign policy decision America has faced since the end of the Cold War… could prove to be a mistake of historic proportions.” And this: “It is delusional to believe that NATO expansion is not at its core an act that Russia will regard as hostile.” "George Kennan—intellectual architect of the Cold War containment doctrine, a former ambassador to the USSR, and one of America’s wisest students of Russian affairs—spoke for the many dissenters in 1997 when he warned that NATO expansion “would be the most fateful error of American policy in the entire post-Cold War era.” https://www.internationalaffairs.org.au/australianoutlook/why-nato-expansion-explains-russias-actions-in-ukraine/ To state that America's military budget or military forces decreased is naive beyond belief. America is armed sufficiently to destroy the world many times over, a percentage increase in spending or personnel is likea drop in an ocean. Just as it is naive to believe NATO encroaching on the borders of Russia with Georgia, Crimea and Ukraine is not a threat to Russia. Especially since we've had advance warning of Russian sensibilities on this since the 1990s. Ukraine happened because of the false decisions taken by recent Western politcians.
