And in other areas it might be the other way around - I don't know. In my case I was finding with AIS that I was get fluctuating signal levels that meant frequent drop-outs - no good when streaming movies etc. You need to experiment with the different providers. The AIS option is not unlimited; though likely more than good enough for GPS. For home use, if you want AIS, you can get unlimited data and unlimited any network calls from 150 baht per 30 days. Unlimited calls within network? Don't know. I have 60 min/month to all networks AIS usually has a volume limit at such prices like 100 GB/month.
