Could anybody tell me if the Bars are open in Pattaya on the 12th August ,the queen's birthday

As far as I remember HM the Queens day was always business as usual!

Not 100 % sure though.

I agree with davethailand, I also have never been asked to close. I always go by Soi 6 bars, last year some closed most stayed open it was up to them.

Up to about 3/4 years ago, the bars did have to close on HM Queen's birthday "as a sign of respect". However, I seem to remember that she said she would like people to go out and enjoy themselves on her birthday - so the bars remained open.

Having said that no-one really knows for sure until the BiB have decided (usually the day before) whether bars can open or close.
