Russian man arrested after a morning of shoplifting inside the Royal Garden Plaza

Pattaya Police received a telephone call from a security guard at the Royal Garden Plaza on Pattaya Beach informing them that a Russian man had been apprehended and accused of shoplifting. Police Lieutenant Colonel Anan responded to the call and escorted MR. Sergei Ivanov aged 40 back to the stationhouse along with a number of items he was alleged to have stolen. The man had apparently entered a number of shops within the plaza and stolen selected items from each shop. The items held by Police as evidence included two Nautica Branded shirts, Lee Branded jeans and two Domon branded T-shirts. The total cost of all the items was 8,220 Baht. Speaking through a translator, Mr. Ivanov confessed to stealing the items but did not give an insight into the reasons behind his actions. He was charged with shoplifting and put behind bars pending a court appearance.

but curiously they don't mention... sriracha tv had him on and showed only the one pair of jeans and a tube of toothpaste that he stole....

He told the police that the lifted items came from several stores

At 9 in the evening on March 7, Police Major Chaiyaporn Tongnapiang, inquiry inspector received a call from a security officer working at Royal Garden Plaza to inform him that a Russian man, accused of shoplifting, had been apprehended. The police major went to the store and met with Sergey Lranov, 40, who gave a full confession. In his bag were five t-shirts, one pair of jeans, one belt, and a ladies shoulder bag. Total value of the goods was estimated to be around 10,000 baht.

He was taken to the stationhouse for further questioning. Sergey told the police major that the stuff came from several stores and when no one was looking he placed the articles in his bag. Why he never considered the possibility of CCTV equipment being in operation was not asked.

He was charged with shoplifting and placed behind bars until his court appearance the next day.

By the state of him I can see why he needed the tee-shirts...even the jeans and the belt....but the ladies shoulder bag?? Hey! Ho! :o

but what about the toothpaste?!!?!?!!? LOL :o:D

I suppose he had to get something to put into his new ladies shoulder bag.....nothing worse than nicking a pretty new shoulder bag and having to carry it around empty.. :D
