Things To Do Near Chong Nonsi?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am staying near Chong Nonsi, well that is my nearest SkyTrain stop. I am about 30 minutes walk from there.

Is there anything interesting to do in this area. I have had a walk around and seen lots of good food stalls but not much else.

Any tips?

Thanks.

30 mins walk away is not near at all - I assume you live down Narathiwat road somewhere, where there is even less. You had better walk another 10 mins onto Silom and Suriwongse roads, which is where most things happen in Bangkok, both daytime and nightime.

Ok, will have a look for those two roads.

Their is a great Thai bar about 100 meters past Makro superstore sells great food and cheapish beer several bands on but get in early it gets packed out.

You mean the place on the other side of the road? Whats it called?

No it's on the same side as Makro just past a car showroom about 150 metres from the entrance to the shopping centre;

Sorry dont know it's name it is written in Thai but quite a big place with a beer garden so you would not miss it i think.

Yes I am near the makro and the Tesco Lotus!

Are there any Muay Thai gyms around there?

Sounds you might be in the neighborhood of Tawandang pub on Rama III... In Thai, it's called Long Beer Yerman... Good home-brewed beer, good music, good food, good shows.... 95% Thai audience...most of the time... Farang welcome....

And they put on great shows in the evening!

Tawandang is one of my MUST DO things in Bangkok.

Do you know anything more about it? Name, price, website etc?

Thanks.

Nope, you'll have to go and look. They seemed friendly enough. :D

I saw the garage yesterday on the way to Tesco but it was too hot to walk over the bridge ;-) Will have a look this week. Thanks.
