How's Your Water Supply.

Featured Replies

I live in Jomtien. We haven't had more than a trickle of water for the last few days and then only in the wee hours of darkness.

My Mrs rekons that it is a widespread problem, so I thought that there might be something in todays Pattaya Mail about it, but nothing there.

So anyway, do you have the water on?

Dunno, have a 2m3 tank that's auto-refilled when there's water. I though everybody in the Pattaya area had one of those....

Same here in Chonburi. We never run out since I installed a pump and use the cistern's reserve.

Many outside the mooban are bone dry.

I've got the same problem, the house I rent has a tiny tank compared to all the neighbours, not a problem when it's just me, but is when I have friends staying, as I do now. Fortunately there's plenty of water in the pool ..........

I have'nt had any problems whatsoever, Yet.

I've got 2 massive water tanks and a pump to fill them quickly.

The water went off here Pattaya 3rd Road for a couple of days in Jan 2005 then the water went really brown, then it came back. But now the pressure is really low, when I use the ablution hose, it no longer rips out by lower intestines.

If there was some way of saving all the water, like in the shower or the sinks, this could be recycled to use as flushing water. It is a very wasteful system.

Errr, maybe I should be more secretive about where I live, mods please change my original post to say that I live in Chang Mai. :o:D

I got my own well dug a few years back with a submersible pump connected to a large underground tank which feeds into another pump, which feeds into the house....All the neighbors are slowly starting to do the same.... Its not going to get any better with the increasing population in Pattaya.... :o

Which company did the installation for you?

How much did it cost?

Sorry, I asked this in another thread and got some replies but I'd be interested in your experience too. I'm about to start building a new house in the Na Jomtien area. :D

Back on topic, I live just off Sukhumvit in central Pattaya and have not experienced any town water supply problems recently. Maybe it's a localized problem? :o

There were articles (Pattaya Mail ?) about the water problem in Pattaya a few months back. Lack of rain and increased demand have lowered the reservoir to less than 50% of it's usual level. The city said it was buying water and adding it to the reservoir supply.

My landlady mentioned that they started experiencing water problems in mid-December. Starting in January, they've had to buy water on a daily basis. By mid February, she was having the roof tank filled 3 times a day.

Bet there'll be lot's of water around in 4 weeks from now though, when Songkran starts !!
