I have been in Thailand for 9 months, and just changed to an education visa, but the first one is only valid for 3 months and then I need to extend it. i already have a motorcycle liscence, but now I need a car one as well. I went to Sathon for the residency I will need but they denied me because my visa expires on Nov.17 2009. Thats still over 2 months. They said I needed to go extend it first. Thats rediculous, I have heard of people getting liscences on Tourist visas.

Then I was thinking the Canadian embassy could give me the document, but then was thinking, will the folks at Chatucuk tell me the same thing? You visa isnt long enough?

I want to know before I pay 1500 baht at the Canadian embassy for them to type on paper that I have said that I live somewhere in Bangkok....
