Clothing Markets In Bkk

Featured Replies

As the topic suggests, I am looking for the names and locations of the main clothing markets in BKK.

If you have knowledge of opening times /days that would be a great help.

Thanks :)

The Platinum Mall on Ploenchit is a good place to start. Basically a huge new indoor market with hundreds of well-organized vendors on five (?) floors. Right in the Pratunam clothing district so you get some real bargains. Good aircon, not overly croded, some proper food shops. About 200 m along the road from Pantip Plaza.

I agree that Platinum is a good place for clothing, but the shops mainly have womens clothing. Just across the road from Platinum, you will find Pratunam market, which is another good area for clothing, and have just as many shops as Platinum. Finally I will mention MBK as a good place to ship for clothing.

If you want to buy whole sale, the best place is BoBe market. But bargain hard!

It is on Petchburi Road, not Ploenchit.

Thanks for that one. Can you tell me where that market is situated please? And is it open on a daily basis?

Thanks to all for the above information.

JJ market. Someone mentioned that one to me. I gather it is open weekends only but they could not tell me the location.

Any information on JJ market?

Thanks.

Take the skytrain to the last stop, Mor Chit, its right across the road, maybe a 5 minute walk.

May be irrelevant to your circumstance, but if you are an English tourist, save your money and buy back home in Primark or Tesco. Same price/higher quality.

That said the aforementioned markets have a great choice of thousands of designs of cheap T-shirts. Cheap denim is overpriced in Bangkok/Thailand if you still wear that! Some copy designer labels are also worth buying, though some of them are such poor quality don't bother and it is getting harder to fond them on display - you have to ask. I have bought really good Polo, Ralph Lauren etc but have also bought rubbish before I wised up to look hard at the quality feel of the cloth and the stitching.

Chatuchak Weekend Market is located at the Mor Chit BTS station. It is a huge outdorr place that is open on weekends (duh). There is a place called JJ Mall adjacent that is open everyday except Mondays. It much smaller but has pretty much the same stuff and is air conditioned.
