Pattaya Music Festival 18-20 ?

Does anyone really know what's on where and at what time. There is a big stage being built down at the pier so I suppose that's where the main stars will be performing but I cant find a program of times each artist will be playing

The performing areas will be divided into 3 zones; World box (international musicians), Love Box (Asian musicians) and Peach Box (Thai musicians). http://www.tatgovernor.com/festival.aspx?id=47 but which zone is which

The g/f tells me that she has seen on TV that Tata Young is playing but the TAT web site doesn't say that, and if she is then at what time and which stage. Is she on the Thai stage or the international stage cos she's 50/50 Thai/Farang (the TV doesn't tell us that bit)

Also here's another link that says the festival is starts on Monday and runs till Wednesday with Christina Aguilar being on the red stage (north Pattaya) at 8-30pm http://www.thailandgrandfestival.com/pyx_activities.asp

If the red stage is the World box zone (international musicians) is Christina the only international artist

I'm completely confused :o

No doubt Pattaya city news and Pattaya mail will tell us after the event when we've all missed it, as with everything that happens around town, the number of times I missed stuff doesn't bear thinking about (about time you both got your act together and informed prior to the event)

OK, so it wasn't 20:15 when thay came on last night... more like 21:05... but they absolutely rocked!

Thousands of people... mainly Thais... having an absolute sanook mak mak time. :D

And when Potato launched into their version of Limp Biskit's "Mission Impossible" number, the crowd went absolutely apesh1t!!!

Fantastic time. :o

The police had the crowd well under control with metal detector scans and body pat-downs for everyone before entry, and were highly visible throughout the evening.

The only thing that marred the event for me and my teeruk, along with a number of Thais as well, were large groups of inebriated youths that shoved their way rudely through the crowd to get to the front... pushing and shoving and stepping on peoples feet. :D

There wasn't much wind either, so there was quite a whiff of body odour in the air. :D

Having said that, overall it was a great night out.

:D

Ditto the above for the world stage

Tata was absolutely stunning and the music wasn't bad either :D

How the heck does she get away with it? In China they are passing a law that states that pop 'stars' will NOT be allowed to mime.

Whats On ? Massive traffic jams in Central Pattaya for 3 nights.

Yeah... and every second vehicle had a BKK licence plate.

Hopefully traffic will be back to normal tonight.

Did you notice the lack of police directing/controlling the traffic?

For such a big event and with so much traffic I would have expected the police to be out in greater numbers on the roads than what they were. :o

they were too busy... uhhmm... checking "packages"??? and confiscating belts???

very bizarre policework...

and also very haphazard. There was a huge potential for disaster at world stage for tata young when thousands of people tried to push their way against metal fencing while being funnelled in and the 5 policemen insisting on patting down all concert-goers... until they gave in and just let a mob of humanity in. Complete Chaos.

Yeah... I could image it. :o

I was at the Peace Stage, and there were about 30 police at the entry gates and maybe another 50 around the perimeter and amongst the crowd.

I haven't heard of any reports of injuries or arrests though. :D
