Went and had a look at the menu.

Excellent at a reasonably good price.

Will eat there tomorrow and post my opinion.

ps. There are two storeys of covered tables and one storey of open.

Back home in England i was spoiled with the best indian food ever, nothing i have had here comes even close to it. One of the few things i miss.

I might give it a go not building my hopes up though :)

A review on here, and also on the 'restaurants you recommend' thread might be good Chuppachops.

Funny thing is, 'British' Indian food is pretty unique. I travelled extensively in India and the food there isnt as good as the food in Britain !

It's just what you get used to.

One thing that annoys me is the high price of Indian food here in Thailand. It still perceived as being 'exotic' and therefore can attract a premium. I've even queried this with Indian restaurant owners who cite the price of spices being expensive or the distance involved in importing the food.............................I usually then point to the West and say 'but my friend, India is just over there'

I got scammed last year on the bangla in the bar with the freezer in it. The scam went someting like this you go in get a beer and if you fancy it go through into the freezer and get a shot. Cant exactly remember the price but its around 250 baht if there is a member of staff in with you which there must be to give you the shot, he or she has 1 as well so your paying for there shot as well. When later on if you go back and youv'e had a few beers 2 maybe 3 are in there with you, and you guessed it your hit with a bar bill of 2-3 thousand baht once you and your mates have paid your bar bill and the staffs freebie.

I went there last night. Huge place with bar etc. upstairs. It looks really nice but unfortunately the food is not as good as I hoped. The menu is the exact same as the Indian in Kata (the one opposite Mee Bar) but the food is noway near as good :)

I've just eaten there and I thought the food was excellent.

I had murgh tikka masala, two garlic nans and a San Miguel Light for 380 Baht.

Happy hour from 9 in the morning to 9 at night, Tiger beer is 39 Baht.

I believe the owner did have that restaurant mentioned in Kata.

Anyway, this place blows Mr. India out of the water.

Good review KarenBravo. Thanks. Will definitely stick it on my places to visit list.

A meal with a beer for 380 baht is fairly modest.

Did you get rice with it?

I make British style Indian curries and I have to agree with the Indian restaurants the spices here are very expensive .I have recently had to make a trip up to Bangkok to purchase a large amount of spices from the Indian quarter.I have an account set up now and they will ship down to me but that makes the price even higher but still better than having to pay stupid amounts for small packets.

I don't know why the spices are so expensive, probably some stupid import duty

Funny, I found that with Chinese food in China as well.

The best you can get here in Phuket is at Cape Panwa they are from Birmingham and a far better price than any here

Went there last night. Will definitely go again.

Will post update in the pinned 'favourite restaurants' thread.

The best Indian meal i've had in Thailand by far.

Had Paneer Kofta. One big bowl with 4 kofta thingies in it, surrounded by curry sauce.

1 x naan bread

2 x popadoms with dips

1 x large plate of rice

2 x Tiger beers

It was far too much for one person to eat, but i did my best and was stuffed.

Grand total = 320 baht which in my view is not too expensive. Not something i m going to do every day, but quite a reasonable cost.
