Four passenger carriages of the train derailed. Anyone know about this ?

Yes: To Kanchanaburi no injuries can not post link due to TV rules. And we thank driving a car hear is bad take the train.

I did that journey once, from Thon Buri to Nam Tok. From Kan to end of line at Nam Tok, the conductor and I were the only people in the carriages!.

Article in last weeks Bangkok Post from a Thai journo still describing it as the "death railway" due to its still appalling safety standards.

Yes, its in yesterdays BP, 5 incidents in the last 4 month, decrepit rail track & sleepers, will cost millions to service for safety. The name 'Death Railway' seems to be a chilling indication of things to come
