We always use Super Rich across the road from the Central World near Pratunam.

There are a number of outlets it that area, check the rates for the best one as we found they varied by as much as 0.2 baht.

No such place. Have changed cash in Bangkok and other Thai towns regularly over trhe last 5 years. As indicated in last post, rates vary - you know that but what poster meant was that what is a relatively good place this week will be relatively bad next week. You have to do the rounds each time if you want a better rate - and of course sods law says you always see a better rate later in the day once you've bought.

But then again is it worth it? Life's too short to spend it hunting to save a few baht. But I still check 3 or 4 places if they are close together.

Super Rich is the place to go. I dont know how to set up a "link" so type this address in and compare bank rate with Super Rich. www.bankexchangerates.daytodaydata.net

Super Rich definately the best exchange rate and their main office near Central World is always better than their satellite branches and this is confirmed on their website.

They show their updated rates on their website (if you join and log in) but the published rate is their best rate and as stated probably limited to main branch.

What I meant was that in that area there are about 3 or 4 "Super Rich" outlets in that street which all seem to offer different rates, make sure you check them out and use the best one at the time you go to change your money.

There are a number of smaller currency exchange businesses that usually offer "better than bank" exchange rates (differ from shop to shop) in the market area behind Thai Airways head office.

The Superrich with the silver/green sign above it (the other superrich branches have orange/green signs) on the left hand side of Ratchadamri Soi 1 is the place to go. I've been there twice in the last 10 days and got a great rate both times. For some reason this Superrich gives a slightly better rate than the others, which explains why it is always busier than the others.

If you take a look at the map here you will see that there are 3 Superrich branches close together, Branch #1 is the one you want.

A couple of months ago when I was in Bangkok I wanted to change a significant amount of GBP. I went to the soi 22 branch of Superrich after checking their rate on the web. The rate displayed on their board in the shop was at least 1 baht under the web advertised rate which I had checked only 30 minutes beforehand. I questioned the rate and got a shrug of the shoulders. When I told them how much I wanted to change the manager (I presume) appeared and made a phone call. He then offered me a better rate but still not as good as the internet rate. I rejected his offer and walked.

The only location that offers the rate on the website is the main one at Ratchadamri.

At the top of the rate page it says this:

"Remarks :

The below rates are subject to change without prior notice. Please contact our foreign currency service counter for firm rates. These rates are applicable at the RAJADUMRI branch only. "

also note that SR offers he best rate ONLY for big notes in €/US$ and GBP-100 or larger, smaller notes get slightly worse rates-but still better as nearby Thai Kasikorn shows on its board

the suspection that they are good week 1 and then not week2 is not right-they for the last 3-4 years since I started useing them-have always done better as any normal Thai chain-bank. you must show paspt-a copy of it will be made.

they are also quite good in offering sell-rates for some other Asian currency-notably Chinese Yuan (Renminbi)_I calculated that I got a better rate doing double exchange with them (from € to THB-then CNY) as I got from bank of CHina in mainland.

There is another, smaller and independent exchange just north of MBK centre-north-go past the shiny white new circular shell-shaped museum, forgot the name-but going toward the Asia Hotel-press bell to gain entry-had same rate as SR mid-sept, also only for big notes.

Yet another is in the Pratunam clothes market-opposte the Platinum mall-just in a soi from Phetburi-clearly signed from main road-but they dont offer that good a rate.
