Spending A Night At Phuket Airport

Featured Replies

Hello,

while looking for flights back home to Europe, I found this amazingly cheap offer in november (9k Baht to Frankfurt). Unfortunately, this one is leaving from Phuket.

Since its check in will open at 7am, I was planning to take the last flight in the evening from Bangkok and arrive on the island at around midnight. Can I actually spend the rest of the night at the airport, sitting in a quiet corner, reading a book or using WiFi on my laptop, or is that something the airport people dont like to see and will cause me problems? Restaurants and Shops will be closed at night I guess!?

Never did that before and was always a bit disturbed by seeing 500 people sleeping on the floors of Dubai airport...

Thanks

Sky

All the shops will close, there's no free wifi in the airport.

You will be able to find seating (don't know how comfortable) and I'm pretty sure they won't turn the lights out on you. I also don't think you'll be bothered by anyone.

I know TV Member Simon43 runs an Airport Hotel just 200-500m away from the main gate of the Airport. Look him up and maybe he can help set you up for the night.

Hi Sky - If you don't want a room for that short night, come over to the hotel and you can use the free wifi (as long as you buy a drink!). The reception is open all night with foreign TV, so you can sit and browse the internet, drink lots of beer and watch the TV...

I can't give the hotel url here, but just google for 'phuket airport' and 'hotel'

I'm working in Jomtien right now, but I'm sure my ex will relieve you of some money, as she did with me :)

Simon
