Actually I rather like it. :)

Down the old super this morning and got 4 pints of milk for 99p..500 grams of Chedder for £1-60 and 3 Bottles of not bad plonk (red of course -politics init) ..for £8 quid.

Our local Boozer...big real fire does Carling /Cali/Heine @ around £2 a pint..real ale £1-80 and had not a bad brown eyed girl/Vera Lynn singalong band included.

Landlady sometimes does a load of roast pots and a few plates of greasy pork sausages for TIT locals .......fodder food ...yeah its realy miserable in Blighty at the Mo ...roll on Xmas ..T-land can wait...

Actually ..got a do at the Embassy week after next so that will do for this year ....HE the Ambass...is a bit of a lad...but that Thai wine he keeps on forcing me tae drink...luva a duck...which reminds me.... :D

Are you trying to convince us or yourself??

You can keep your miserable weather and miserable people. Cheap cheese is not enough to convince me to go back!

I agree and those are certainly not London prices from a decent pub.

Must be OAP/Builders venue with Weatherspoons prices, me thinks. :D

Weather is here, wish you were lovely

:D

I guess lots of people (not those on this forum) have never spent winters, or part of, away from the uk in warmer climes, so just accept it.

I hate it. As others others have said Spring, Summer, and even early Autumn come to that, can be very nice in the UK. Once the clocks go back towards end of October, i think its time be gone elsewhere.

For the last 5 out of 6 years i've managed usually something over a month in LOS Jan/Feb/March time. This time funds are a bit tight, but wishing so much i could go for 4/5/6 months :)

Running with friends on a Sunday morning in the hills of Yorkshire or Dorset when the air is crisp, the sky blue, the ground firm underfoot and there's a frost in the air painting the trees hedges and fields a virgin white. The village far below looks cosy and inviting as the smoke curls up from the wood fires and the smell of freshness is all around. The warm welcome when we all poor into the local pub and quaff a few real ales in front of the log fire.
