Cannon G11

I'm looking to buy a decent camera and a friend of mine is recomending the Cannon G11

I have shopped around Fortune and MBK this weekend, and the prices are coming out as follows

17,000b for "Shop" Warrenty

20,000b for "International" Warrenty

To be honest i dont trust the "Shop" warrenty idea, the thought of some guy messing around with the camera on the workbench at the shop is just too risky.

20k is a little over what i wanted to pay, so what i am looking for here is three things

1) Help finding the G11 with international warrenty for around 18,000b

2) Recomendations for other similar spec'd/priced Cameras

3) "For" and "Against" points on the G11 or other similar cameras

So, Camera Buff's - lend me your knowledge!
