The taxi drivers come from Issan too. They want to go home for the holidays so they take a few passengers to pay for the expenses.

The numbers were astounding. The lineup for LPG started Tuesday night. By Wednesday morning there were so many taxis that two police officers had been assigned to organize the queue, which disappeared long down some side soi. By that evening I still counted about 60 taxis in line.

When I ran by at 6:30 this morning the queue had finally gone.

What a way to spend Songkran!

Now , that makes sense .

Because I saw the same sight at the end of April in Korat . No holiday ....I think .

From Bangkok to Udorn there was a constant stream of taxis.

When ever we go to Bangkok all the taxi drivers are from Isaan and most only go home once a year at Songkran.
