700 Year Stadium Gym Any Good?

If it's anything like it was when I saw it 4-5 years ago, no. Typical 10-baht Thai gym that you'll see all over. How about trying out City Gym which is closer to town and not far off the Canal Road?

The 700 year sports complex has many facilities including gymnasiums, outdoor track and field, olympic swimming pool etc. If it is the weight lifting facilities that you are interested in there are two now, on each side of the swimming pool entrance desk.

The old weight room (which has relocated twice in the past few years from the hotel, to the stadium to the present location) is to the left of the steps to the pool. It is pretty basic old universal machine, stand alone machines and a few free weights. You can get in a good workout at several stations. And you can't beat the price. 15 baht for members (500 per year individual or 1000/ family of up to 5) or 30 baht for non-members. I think 10 or 10:30 am until 8pm.

The new air-con room (to the right of the pool desk) is lined with state of the art new machines and has staff trainers to help you get started. It's 50 baht for members, 100 baht for non-members per visit. 4pm to 8 I think.

The attached article is old so there may be some changes.
