For the past few days I've seen groups (three to six or more) of smartly dressed twenty something year olds waving clip boards and flagging down cars on the road between Patong and Karon/Kata. Slow down to take a look and see what it's all about and one of their number comes running, kinda fun to watch them exercise but have never bothered to stop and ask questions - presumably sales of some descriptions and I would guess tour guides, mobile real estate agents, any clues?

It's pretty unusual to see well dressed locals trying to sell something by flagging down what appears to be tourists cars, even in Phuket. Frankly, I don't feel inclined to stop and find out but just wondered if anyone else had seen this new marketing phenomena.

I'm curious.
