Changing Non-imm Visa

Featured Replies

Does anybody know if it's possible to change a non-imm ED visa to a non-imm B visa (for the purpose of opening a company and applying for work permit) without having to leave the country?

Thanks

David

You will have to obtain Non-B visa from embassy/consulate abroad and will have to show WP3 receipt from labour office (confirming application made for work permit) to the embassy/consulate as part of the visa application papers (see link below). Your company will therefore need to start the process of applying for your work permit at the labour office covering the area where you will be working before you apply for your Non-B visa. Once your Non-B visa is issued, the local labour office will need to see your passport showing the Non-Immigrant visa before they will handover the work permit. Will be single entry visa first time around, but can obtain multiple entry later when work permit is available. KL would be a good place to go.

You can only change your visa status if you qualify for a 1 year extension based on hat new status!

An extension you cannot get when employed by a newly opened company.
