2nd Hand Computer Shop

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Does anyone know of 2nd hand shop in Chiang Mai where one might be able to purchase a cheap laptop?

Nothing amazing just the basics for web browsing.

I wish they had ebay over here!

I wish they had e bay too, but try the top floor of Pantip Plaza, they have piles of 2nd hand comps. Good luck.

The 2nd hand computer stuff is very overprice. They seem to want two thirds the new price for a machine 3-4 years old with dubious battery.

I recommend saving up and go for new.

I would advise anyone not to buy such a second hand computer from a shop. And especially not from Pantip. As briley said, they are way overpriced and often faulty. It is absolutely ridiculous that a beaten up 4 year old laptop is 2/3 the price of a brand new and modern one with 8 times the memory. Go for a new one, forget laptops, buy a half decent PC for about 8000 baht and a monitor for 3,600 - you won't regret it.

They do have eBay here, its called shopping.co.th, but don't bother buying a 2nd hand computer whatever you do! Like the others have already said, they are absolutely thrashed and are way over-priced. For a little more, you can buy a new one with a warranty.

No, it's only in Thai.

My advice as well- buy an inexpensive desktop.

I bought a second hand Acer laptop for my daughter over a year ago, its worked just fine for her.

SBC computer (laptop specialists), ground floor Computer Plaza; and they have a shop at Pantip Plaza too, 2nd floor I think.

Thanks I will check them out.

I would get a desktop but it's for my misses so I'm just after a very basic laptop with WiFi. It will only ever see facebook I would imagine so I'm not shelling out on a shiny new one better than mine!

I did think about a new phone and use the facebook app, but I would rather spend 6k on 2nd laptop than a phone.

I found a nice Acer in ICON square today but it was 6500 and he would only budge to 6000. I'll have another look at the weekend.

Thanks all for the pointers.
