After watching a couple of movies including SAW 6, Final Destination 4 and Inglourious Basterds

I am really noticing the excess use of gore that is appearing in movies these days.

I first noticed this kind of thing in Rambo 4. The saw series of movies has always been that way

inclined but the last one was far more gory than saw 1 to 5. As for movies like Rambo it was usually

enough to see a spatter of blood rather than severed bodies, lost limbs and people exploding.

The story lines in movies really seem to be declining and frankly the 'shock factor' has been overdone

to the point of numbness.

Has anyone else noticed this???

I have always like Quentin Tarantino's films but I thought his latest 'Inglourious Basterds' was terrible.

The movie was at least 30 minutes too long and Brad Pitts role was awful.

p.s. Any recent movie recommendations? The last GOOD movie I saw was 'Up'. A great movie and suitable for kids

so no gore :)

As for TV series I would highly recommend 'House', 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and 'Dexter'.

Have not been to a movie since "Saving Private Ryan"[great movie by the way].I noticed the trend you refered to about thirty years ago.My suggestion, read more books. :)

I too thought Inglourious Basterds was awful, me, my friend and our gf's were bored sh*tless....

Ditto Inglourious Basterds. Not only rewriting history but boring us with it, too.

As for Gore? Not much to be done about him, I suppose.
