Blind Map of Europe

Want to travel the world on a European vacation?

Planning on riding a European train?

Thrilled by taking a European cruise?

Well, you better learn where everything in the Old World is first!

http://www.ilike2learn.com/ilike2learn/europe.html

Not so easy as you might think ! :)

Post your score/percentage and...................be honest..to yourself :D !

To be honest: my first score was 92% and second 100%. My mistakes were in central Europe.

Have fun but I warn you...it can be frustrating :D

Here's a more detailed and challenging Europe geography game:

http://www.lufthansa-usa.com/useugame2007/html/play.html

I scored 26,840 on my first run.

That's a lousy game. I landed my planes exactly on the cities they were asking for and every times it says: 7 miles off...9 miles off....

I won't fly Lufthansa anymore :D

Apart from that: you're stealing my topic...start your own!

93% with one mis-click.  dam_n Yugoslavia!

Yes, very tricky those countries and states.

But if you can first learn (also from North) the countries on the Adriatic Sea than the rest is relatively easy:

Slovenia - Bosnia/Herzegovina - Montenegro - Albania and Greece. Serbia and Macedonia are landlocked.

The Baltic states can be memorized as, starting from North:

E -stonia

La -tvia

Li -thuania

Guessing you're from Finland I invite you to do the test with the blind map of Europe and give us your honest answer to the first try:

http://www.ilike2learn.com/ilike2learn/europe.html

Don't forget; if you are not honest you're only fooling yourself. :D

One could also do the Blind map of Asia which is relatively easy, although I made 2 times a mistake but don't tell you guys where so that my score was "just" 95%:

http://www.ilike2learn.com/ilike2learn/asia3.html

Blind map of USA: :)

http://www.ilike2learn.com/ilike2learn/unitedstates.html

Hmmm..I have to study my skills first; I don't think I could reach 50%, to be honest.

I'm American and very confident that my geography is better than most people no matter what country they are from. Growing up, my brother and I had maps on the wall of the world and of continents. We used to play a game where we would challenge each other to find some tiny place. My favorite was the Gulf of Ob. The first thing I do before I go anywhere new is check it out on Google Earth. The first thing I get anywhere I go is a map. If I can't locate where I am at anytime on a map I get uncomfortable.

These maps are cute, I'll take the quiz and post my scores. There's one map out there that is much tougher. It gives the outline of Europe, and you have to click and drag the outline of a country into it's proper spot. Score is based on how close is you are. Not an easy task. A friend of mine based his kid's allowance on his score. The little guy knows the location of the countries of Europe now that's for sure.

Europe: 100%

Asia: 95% (Missed 2. I guessed at the Central Asian -stans. I know where Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan are but had to guess at the other two and got them right. Wasn't careful with Brunei and clicked on Malaysia. The only other one I missed? clicked on Burma for Thailand. :D Gotta pay attention. So the two lucky guesses make up for the 2 silly goofs).

USA: 100%

Your story is pretty amazing and I'm a bit the same but the vast majority of people, all around the world, is not I'm afraid and the masses really don't know their geography.

WOW...that's almost unbelievable but your previous explanation shows it's true.

My sincere compliments, especially about Europe. I couldn't beat the USA :D

Found the Gulf of Ob yet? :D

I knew about the Gulf of Ob but in Holland we learned about the gulf of Obbossom (i.e the Bossom of the Ob)

I wonder why you asked? :)

I just barely beat you by 12 miles with 26,828. My biggest mistake was the first one. Some Swiss town I never heard of and I chose someplace in Portugal.

It's a silly game; I played it before a year ago I think and now again. All cities are correct but if you point at a correct city it says you missed it by 4 miles or 9 miles.

How silly, as if one can see on such a small blind map where the airport is :)

Aaaaggh!

99% Azerbaijan took 2 guesses.

Yeah very tricky those countries.

Before the Berlin Wall fell and the USSR still existed, almost nobody knew about these countries.

:D that's unbelievable but I believe you.

Well, as an American, the USA one was cake (heck, I have been to every state, so I guess I should know where they are).  I could get all of Canada, too, and Australia as well, but that is about it as far as other nations' states/provinces.  And that probably means Mexico, too, even though I lived there for a year as a kid.

For Asia, I guessed twice on the 'Stans.  Got one right and had to go back and guess again for the other.  If the US didn't have a few bases and contingency plans there, I probably would have missed one or two more.
