I am looking at extending my contract in the Marine Corps with the option of having a government sponsored tour that my wife will accompany me on. We already have her K3 in process, but i am told that she can get a visitor visa to Japan and stay with me here while she waits for it. She will be attached to my official orders. I am going to look into it with our legal department, but just wondering if anyone on here has had any experience like this or heard of it.

Do talk with JA as there have been recent law changes but do recall there used to be a fast track to citizenship by husbands assignment overseas (believe only one year was required in US).
