I apologise for the new thread, but I couldn't find another matching my topic:

My employer, a private University, kept me on probation (and reduced pay) for 180 days instead of the 120 stated in the contract -- Uni policy (i.e., one semester), according to them. I'm owed extra payment for overtime work in December (acknowledged, but still not paid yet) and working on the King's Birthday and Constitution Day, national holidays not honoured this past year by the Uni (a long story).

I'm looking at the Labour Protection Act, but I can't find anything stating my obligations. I would like to leave at the end of this month, but my contract states notice of one semester. On December 1st I requested permission to leave, but I have not received a formal response yet.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck with your situation. I expect that we will have some posters with a fair amount of expertise and experience with these things who can give you some good advice.

Situations such as yours are not all that uncommon, unfortunately.
